Broccoli + Bean Pasta

If you're looking for a quick and easy meal with minimal ingredients then here it is! Plus it satisfies my pasta craving without the pesky tomato sauce which flares up my OAS. Although if you don't have OAS, I'd recommend sautéing some sliced cherry tomatoes with the broccoli.

I didn't have any on hand, but for an added yumm, slice and sauté sweet Italian sausage to mix in. If adding the sausage, give yourself a little extra cooking time.

Total Time: 30 minutes


  • Gluten free pasta - your choice of brand or shape; I like Barilla because it's cost effective

  • 2-3 cloves of garlic, chopped

  • 2-3 cups of broccoli florets

  • 1 can white beans, rinsed (I used cannellini since it was on hand)

  • 1 cup chicken broth or chicken stock (Pacific comes in convenient 80z containers)

  • 1 tablespoon crushed red pepper (add less/more depending on your desire for heat)

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Extra virgin olive oil

Optional: sweet italian sausage link; gluten-free


  1. Cook pasta according to package directions

  2. Optional: slice and sauté sweet or spicy Italian sausage in medium pan over medium heat until cooked through

  3. Heat medium-large skillet over medium heat; add 2-3 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil

  4. Add broccoli and sauté for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally; can cover to cook faster

  5. Add garlic, beans, and sausage (optional); sauté for 1-2 minutes and stir

  6. Sprinkle with crushed red pepper, salt and pepper to taste

  7. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil

  8. Serve in a heated dish :)
